Write the place value of 2 in the following decimal numbers:

Answer

(i) 2 is in tenths place (1/10)
(ii)2 is in tens place( 10)
(iii) 2 is in ones place (1)
(iv) 2 is in hundredths place (1/100)
(v) 2 is in tenths place (1/10)



Question 2
Ram walked 1 km 35 m in the morning and 2 km 7 m in the evening. How much distance did he walk in all?

Answer

Morning = 1 km 35 m= 1.035 km
Evening =2 km 7 m =2.007 km
Total Distance = 1.035 + 2.007=3.042 km



Question 3
Jatin had 20 m 5 cm long cloth. He cuts 4 m 50 cm length of cloth from this for making a curtain. How much cloth is left with him?

Answer

Total clothes= 20 m 5 cm = 20.05 m
Clothes cut= 4 m 50 cm = 4.50 m
Cloth left=20.05 - 4.50=15.55 m



Question 4
Anamika travels 10 km 50 m every day. Out of this, she travels 5 km 200 m by train and the rest by auto. How much distance does she travel by auto?

Answer

Total distance= 10 km 50 m= 10.050 km
Train= 5 km 200 m= 5.200 km
Auto = 10.050 - 5.200=4.850 km

(a) .10 = 10/100 = 1/10
(b) 0.25= 25/100=1/4

(f) 0.15= 15/100= 3/20
(g) 0.088= 88/1000=11/125
