Highlight for BITSAT Exam Pattern

  1. The exam will be held online i.e computer based examination
  2. It will be of 3 hours.
  3. There will be five sections of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology , English and logical reasoning
  4. Physics and Chemistry section will have 30 questions each
  5. Mathematics/Biology section there will be 40 questions.
  6. In English section there will be only 10 questions.
  7. There will be 20 questions for logical reasoning .
  8. Total 130 question will be present  and candidates will have to solve them all.
  9. For each right answer, 3 marks will be awarded, and for each wrong answer, negative marking of 1 mark will be done. There will be no marks for unattempted questions

Other Important Information

  • The selected answer can be changed anytime if they are unsure.
  • The question sets for each slot will be different as it will be drawn from a large question bank.
  • No time limit for individual parts of the test
  • If a candidate manages to attempt all 130 questions without skipping within 3 hours then they will get to answer 12 more questions to solve. The extra questions will be from Maths/Biology, Chemistry, Physics. (Once a candidate opts for extra questions, they cannot go back to the previous 130 questions.)
  • The examination will be held only in English language
  • The questions will be selected at random from a large question bank. Different candidates will get different question sets. An expert committee will ensure that the question sets are of comparable difficulty level, content, question type etc. In this matter, the decision of the expert committee will be final and binding on the candidate.
  • The questions are so designed that a good student will be able to answer 130 questions in 180 minutes

What is the maximum marks you can get in the BITSAT?

426/390. This is so as student will get opportunity to solve 12 more questions if they are able to attempt 130 questions within 3 hours

Does BITS Pilani have negative marking?

BITS have negative Marking. For each wrong answer, negative marking of 1 mark will be done.

Is BITSAT paper easier then JEE?

BITSAT paper is easiar then JEE.  it is a speed test with easier questions which, in turn will test your concentration and accuracy
