JEE advanced 2024 examination would be held on 26-May-2024 (Online mode only)
Highlights and information of the JEE Advanced 2024
(1) Exam Information: The exam will be divided into two parts. The first parts (Paper 1) will be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon, while, the second paper (Paper 2) will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. It is compulsory to take both the paper. It will be held in online mode only and both the paper are compulsory
(2) Organizing Institute: It will be organized by seven Zonal Coordinating IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board 2024 (JAB 2024). JEE Advanced 2024 will be conducted by IIT Madras
(3) Two Languages: Students will be able to choose the medium of question paper to be either English Or Hindi. The question paper will NOT be bilingual. The decision about the language of the paper needs to be taken during JEE Advanced 2024 registrations.
(4) Two Attempts: Candidates are allowed to write JEE Advanced 2024 examination for a maximum of two times. And that too consecutively.
(5) Absence: If you fail to appear for any of the two papers, you will be considered absent in the examination and the result will not be prepared. It is compulsory to take both the papers for result preparation.
(6) Foreign Nationals: Did you know that foreign nationals, including PIO(Person of Indian Origin) and OCI(Overseas Citizenship of India) cardholders, are also eligible to take JEE Advanced 2024. This is because foreign nationals are outside the circle of seats reservation under various categories.
(7) Defense Services: The DS category seats can be availed by the children whose parent was killed or permanently disabled in action during war or peacetime operations while in defense / paramilitary service. Please note that not all DS children will be eligible for DS category seats.
(8) Performance in Class XII: For securing admission in IITs(Indian Institutes of Technology) and ISM, aspirants should either be in category wise top 20 percentile in class XII or must have scored at least 75% aggregate marks for general and OBC-NCL or 65% aggregate marks for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
(9) Preparatory Courses: Students who took admission in one of the IITs/ISM preparatory courses will still be eligible to take JEE Advanced 2024 if they fulfill other eligibility criteria mentioned on the website.
(10) Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 (including all categories) by scoring positive marks in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2024. The percentages of various categories are: 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and the remaining 50.5% is OPEN for all. Within each of these four categories, a 3% horizontal reservation is available for PwD (including Dyslexic) candidates.
(11) A candidate should NOT have been admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program) OR accepted the IIT seat by reporting at a reporting center in the past. The candidates whose admission at IITs was canceled are also NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024. (12)Paper 1 will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and Paper 2 will be conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Note That: Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2023 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024. The candidates who have paid seat acceptance fee but not accepted the seat (by not reporting at any reporting center during joint seat allocation in 2023) are eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024

Information About JEE
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common entrance examination which is conducted for admission in various engineering courses like B.Tech, B.E, B.Arch and B.Planning under the direction of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
In 2012, CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has announced this common examination in place of AIEEE and IIT-JEE. JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is being conducted into two parts, JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced. JEE-Main exam is to admission in NITs (National Institute of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), CFTIs (Central Funded Technical Institute), etc. and JEE-Advanced is for admission in IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) and the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad.
There are around 9800 seats in the JEE advanced IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Bombay, IIT Mandi, IIT Delhi, IIT Indore, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Patna, IIT Roorkee, IIT Ropar, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IIT Guwahati and ISM Dhanbad
How to prepare for JEE Advanced 2024
Question 1. Which is the best book to understand the fundamentals of Physics?
Answer:
I think the NCERT book should be studied first. It is a very good book with all the fundamentals. Study it two-three times, so that you got all the concepts. Then you can go for HC Verma which is a good book. Some more books
NCERT Physics: It is a must-read book for every student. It will give a good foundation to prepare for any competitive examination.
H.C. Verma Concepts of Physics Vol I and II .: Highly recommended book for physics concepts and Problems. The first section of the problems is very good. They will sharpen your acumen And try the objective question. They are quite informational.
Halliday, Resnick & Walker Fundamentals of Physics Reference Book: It is a nice book having good problems. A good no of the checkpoint is there to make you aware of the concept.
Sears and Zemansky University Physics Reference Book: This is one of my favorite book for studying physics. It is a nice book having good problems. I.E. Irodov Problems in General Physics: It has some really tough problems in Mechanics, Electricity, Thermodynamics, Magnetism. A good book to try after you have well versed in concept and general problem solving

Question 2. What is the right time to start preparing for JEE Advanced?
Answer: One must start just after clearing class X’th . In such a scenario the student gets adequate time of 2 years to prepare for the JEE main and Advanced. This ensure that his/her preparation for the JEE is complete before the pressure of Board examinations begins to tell. Also one should concentrate on concepts.
Question 3. How do we manage both the school syllabus and preparation for the JEE?
Answer: The syllabi of the JEE is almost the same as that of CBSE Board exams. The only difference lies in the approach. JEE papers require more clarity and a deep understanding of the concept while CBSE board papers give more stress on reproducing the facts. So be regular in your classes. Try the understand the concept. Do it two three-time so that you learn the concept by heart. Also, proper time management will help like give at least 2 hrs. for JEE.
Question 4. Which is the easiest topic to score in Physics?
Answer: Thermodynamics is quite simple to master .JEE paper always have few question from it. So easy to score those. Hydrostatics and Bernoulli’s Principle is also simple. Waves in Elastic Media is simple to master.JEE always have one or two question from it. Interference Beats and Doppler’s Effect is quite simple..So this is also scoring Electrostatics :Coloumbs law,Potential,electric question are simple to attempt. Electromagnetic Induction Lorentz’ Forces:Simple question from it. Circuits with Capacitors:Easier to attempt with some practice and method to solve the circuits Modern Physics (full):Always have some question from it.Easiar to master Collisions:JEE paper have difficult question from this but easiar then below topics.It should attempted in the last Rotational Motion:bit tough.It should attempted in the last Gravitation, Elasticity, S.H.M. :bit tough.It should attempted in the last
Question 5. How to prepare for JEE Advanced in general?
Answer
(a) You should go through each chapter with a lot of concentration. If suppose you are unable to solve a problem choose another. Try to understand the basics of each topic instead of solving all problems. Very often a thorough understanding of a few topics proves better than a superficial idea about all topics. Do lot of sums on each topic and try to solve problems faster.
(b) A good and experienced teacher or coaching institute will generally be of help. They are familiar with the pattern of the examination, and the kind of effort that a student needs to put in.
(c) Start the preparation right after you pass class 10 boards. If you start late you may not be able to cover the entire syllabus properly.
(d) Sleep properly, for 7-8 hours a day. You will need it. Eat healthy. Remember you need to stay healthy in order to study hard.
(e) Take breaks. Do not study all day. Read, play, enjoy with your friends. These will actually help in the long term in keeping you relaxed and stress-free. Believe in yourself rather in others.
(f) Make a routine of every subject. This will help you in giving time go each and every subject

JEE Advanced 2024 Application Form
Registration will begin on 21st April and end in 30th April, There will be slot of two days with late fee charges. Candidates need to register online for appearing in JEE Advanced 2024. Registration can be done only through online mode. Candidates can check the procedure to fill up the Application form and other important details below.
Step-1: After login, provide the basic data including the choice of the language of question paper (English or Hindi), the choices of the cities for the
examination The candidate will have the option of adding another cell phone number on top of the number/s provided during JEE (Main) registration. Please note that the JEE (Advanced) 2024 result will be sent to
one of these numbers by SMS.
