the normal known values of the trigonometric ratios i.e with out the use the calculator<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Value of sin 18 degrees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&nbsp; &nbsp;$A = 18$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, we need to convert into known common values,so<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$5A = 90$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$2A + 3A = 90$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$2A = 90 &#8211; 3A$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking Sin on both the sides, we get<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$sin (2A) = sin (90 &#8211; 3A)$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we know that sin (90 &#8211; 3A) =cos (3A),So<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$sin (2A)&nbsp; =cos (3A)$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now we need to convert them into single angle functions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$sin 2A = 2 Sin (A) Cos(A)$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$cos (3A) = 4 cos^3 (A) &#8211; 3 cos (A)$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Substituting these values<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$2 Sin (A) Cos(A)= 4 cos^3 (A) &#8211; 3 cos (A)$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rearranging them , we get<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$4 cos^3 (A) &#8211; 3 cos (A) &#8211; 2 Sin (A) Cos(A)=0$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$cos (A) ( 4 Cos^2 A &#8211; 2 sin (A) -3)=0$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now we know that $cos A \\ne 0 $,So<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$&nbsp; 4 Cos^2 (A) &#8211; 2 sin (A) -3=0$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$4( 1-sin^2 (A) )- 2 sin (A) -3=0$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$4 sin^2 (A) + 2 Sin(A)&nbsp; -1=0$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a quadratic equation , Solving using Quadratic Formula<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$sin (A) = \\frac {-2 \\pm \\sqrt {4 + 16}} {8}$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$ =\\frac {-2 \\pm \\sqrt {20}} {8}$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$=\\frac {-2 \\pm&nbsp; 2\\sqrt {5}} {8}$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$ =\\frac {-1 \\pm&nbsp; \\sqrt {5}} {4}$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we know that sin 18 &gt; 0,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So $sin (A) = \\frac {-1 +&nbsp; \\sqrt {5}} {4}$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence $sin (18^0)= \\frac {-1 +&nbsp; \\sqrt {5}} {4}$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Value of cos 18 degrees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We know from trigonometric identity that<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$sin^2 A +&nbsp; cos^2 A = 1$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$sin^2 (18) +&nbsp; cos^2 (18) = 1$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$cos^2 (18) = 1 &#8211; sin^2 (18)$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$cos ^2 (18) = 1 &#8211; \\left ( \\frac {-1 +&nbsp; \\sqrt {5}} {4} \\right ) ^2 $<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$cos ^2 (18) = 1 &#8211; \\frac { 6 &#8211; 2 \\sqrt {5}}{16} $<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$cos^2 (18) = \\frac { 10 + 2&nbsp; \\sqrt {5}}{16}$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$cos (18)= \\frac {\\sqrt {10 + 2&nbsp; \\sqrt {5}}}{4}$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>we ignore the negative value as cos 18 &gt; 0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Value of tan 18 degrees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We know that<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$tan (18) = \\frac (36) = 2 \\times \\frac {-1 +&nbsp; \\sqrt {5}} {4} \\times \\frac {\\sqrt {10 + 2&nbsp; \\sqrt {5}}}{4}$<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>$sin (36) = \\frac { \\sqrt { (-1 +&nbsp; \\sqrt {5})^2(10 + 2&nbsp; \\sqrt
