The Journey to International Mathematics Olympiad consists of 6 stages. We have lots of examination in those stages like
1.PRMO (Pre Regional Mathematical Olympiad)
2.RMO ( Regional Mathematical Olympiad)
3.INMO( Indian National Mathematical Olympiad)
4. IMO (International Mathematical Olympiad)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The syllabus for these is pre-degree college mathematics. The areas covered are<\/p>\n\n\n\n
a. arithmetic of integers<\/p>\n\n\n\n
b.geometry<\/p>\n\n\n\n
c. quadratic equations and expressions<\/p>\n\n\n\n
d. trigonometry<\/p>\n\n\n\n
e. co-ordinate geometry<\/p>\n\n\n\n
f. system of linear equations<\/p>\n\n\n\n
g. permutations and combination<\/p>\n\n\n\n
h. factorization of polynomial<\/p>\n\n\n\n
i. inequalities<\/p>\n\n\n\n
j. elementary combinatorics<\/p>\n\n\n\n
k. probability theory and number theory<\/p>\n\n\n\n
l. finite series<\/p>\n\n\n\n
m. complex numbers<\/p>\n\n\n\n
n. elementary graph theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The syllabus does not include calculus and statistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The major areas from which problems are given are algebra, combinatorics, geometry and number theory .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The syllabus is in a sense spread over Class XI to Class XII levels, but the problems under each topic involve high level of difficulty and sophistication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
